As a class we decided to carry out some research to find out what types and features of a magazine would college students like to be included in a college magazine they were going to read. This helped us to decide what features to use in the magazine and what things shoudln't be included. We found this task really helpful as it developed our understanding of knowing how to find out the target audience of the magazine, and what they would like to be included. We found out that they would like to know what important events were coming up both in and out of college, and they also wanted things such as music and film reviews which would typically be found in normal consumer magazines.
We also looked in detail at existing college magazines which we found on the internet and compared them with eachother, deciding which were the most successful and why and borrowing some of their ideas to help us with our own magazines.
