From making a music magazine, contents page and double-page spread, I have learnt a lot about technologies and increased my skills on various programs such as 'Adobe Photoshop'. Before I started making these products I only had basic skills on how to use photoshop and the tools on there, from studying IT at high school. I now know how to edit photo's, changing the opacity and levels of blur, and also tools such as the Bevel, which is a technique I have used a number of times on my magazine to make parts of it stand out more than others.
Before starting this course I hadn't ever used a blog, so this was something very new to me. Although it is a simple, and easy to access way of recording my work, I would have preffered to write on paper instead, as I find it difficult to concentrate on writing properly whilst on the computer. Therefore if i was to do the project again I would rather not use the blog, and write things up by hand.
Another program I had not used before starting this project was yahoo's Flickr website. I found this program a very useful way of annotating the products I had produced, as it was easy to show quickly and efficiently what I was referring to and the connotations of it, by adding notes to the image.
I would also say I have learnt more about taking pictures, as I had to take a number of pictures for my magazine, considering the lighting, the way the model is standing and the setting for the pictures, as well as the angle I was taking the pictures from.
