Comparison of Images
The picture which features on the contents page of my magazine is similar to this picture of Hayley Williams from Paramore, which I found on 'Google Images'. The two images are similar in their style, which suggests their 'attitude' as quite loud and 'rocky.' I chose to compare these two pictures as they suggest a similar type of person, sticking with the conventions of a music magazine.
The shots are both from a medium close-up camera angle, showing the top half of their bodies and both have a similar facial expression, opening their mouth wide to show that they are singing. On the other hand the picture I have taken of my model has a subjective view, whereas the picture of Hayley Williams has an objective view. The image I have taken looks more rehearsed, which it was, however, the image of Hayley Williams looks more on-the-spot, and therefore improvised. It also seems to be an action shot, maybe of her singing at a gig with her band Paramore. The style of their hair is quite different although they are both quite straight and 'choppy' and the lighting is similar in both shots, they both have dark lighting with a brighter light around their faces.
Demographics
Both images are fairly similar therefore they would most likely appeal to a similar type of audience. The audience my magazine is females between the ages of 15 and 20. The magazine is also aimed at girls who are both feminine and have a typical 'girlie' style. It is also representing girls as individuals which is why I have chosen to include various genres of music within my magazine and I believe these images suggest this as well as other images I have also included in the music magazine I have created.
I don't think my magazine tries to challenge conventional stereotypes, although I think the use of images such as this one I have taken and the image on the cover of my magazine, suggests that stereotypes can be merged, and I have included a number of different styles in my magazine to show this.
Pyscographics
I would say that my magazine would appeal to teenagers and young people in society who are both aspirers and individuals, although I don't think it would be aimed at extremists in these groups. I believe it would mainly be aimed towards stereotypical teenage girls.
